Joliet Warehouse Workers Sue Over Discrimination, Harrassment

JOLIET — Angela McDonald was upset last year when she noticed Confederate flags flying from a co-worker’s pickup parked in her workplace lot.

The 44-year-old Joliet woman told her boss she was uncomfortable seeing the flags. The boss said he would talk to human resources, but nothing happened, McDonald said.

Sometimes the flags were flying from the truck, she said. Sometimes they were draped over the dashboard.

There were other problems, too, McDonald said. Someone scrawled KKK in the men’s bathroom and swastikas were drawn on the coffee machine and walls inside the Kraft/Cadbury warehouse in the Laraway Crossing business park in Joliet. The racist graffiti wasn’t cleaned up.
